Rick Rieder is head of fixed income at BlackRock, and one of those i contention for Federal Reserve System Chair :

Rieder spoke on his outlook for the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, info via CNBC:

  • regardless of the use of alternative data sources the Fed can draw on, we believe there is an increased chance that December’s meeting may skip a cut
  • would push off further accommodative rate moves into the new year
  • potentially to a new Chair

Wow .... that last point he made can be read as "potentially to June 12, 2026".

I think that's unlikely, Trump would go ballistic, but here's how I got that date:

  • term as Chair ends on May 15, 2026
  • the meeting following is June 11-12
